July 4, 2009 Santa Cruz Getaway

One of the most memorable July 4th ever.

I don't mean for this to be extremely long, but I just have so much in my mind.

Saturday morning we all got ready and went to American Canyon to pick up Christine. The drive to Santa Cruz was almost an agony. We were practically driving 5 miles per hour, if not less, once we got closer. I gotta say, going to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk during a holiday can be painful. But for the most part it was worth it. Just put your game face on and be spontaneous.

We had an all-day unlimited wrist band so we were all over the place. We had stalkers though, which I thought was both creepy and funny. I was laughing about it at first, until they pursued. And by that I mean that they literally followed us everywhere we went. We figured that we had to mislead them--Christine calls it "getting rid of." I was speed walking past hundreds of people, and we even went in front of the whole park by the streets just to lose them. I decided to go into the mini carousel stadium and sit down with the parents who were watching and cheering their kids. That finally stopped them. For the record, a shy guy who tries his best to talk to the girl is more impressive than a guy who smoothly comes up to you and ask for your name with a grin and a wink. And the comment saying, "I just wanted to get your name, I'm actually kinda speechless right now. But I think you're beautiful.." just takes my breath away. The "Hey girl, you wanna party it up tonight" in a confident way does NOT impress me.

Ahhh, WHERE IS MY FRIENDBOY?

Ferris wheel ride was both fun and beautiful. Hopefully next time I would have quality time with Arthur, Jon, Jaytee, and Christine. Ride home was pretty nice. 70 miles per hour on a bridge from city to city under the bright lights<3
Dropped Christine off at American Canyon. Home by 3 in the morning. Didn't get enough sleep; woke up at 7 in the morning for our annual boating trip. Jet ski!

Until we meet again, Santa Cruz.
